Development in Collier County is on the upswing with the opening of a new golfing community in North Naples, says the Naples Daily News.
Sales are beginning at the Esplanade Golf and Country Club on Immokalee Road just west of Collier Boulevard. Its grand opening celebration is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
Eventually, the 1,800-acre community will include about 1,120 single-family and coach homes. It also includes 170 acres of lakes and more than 1,000 acres of wetlands and preserves.
Home prices begin at $359,900 and models on the company website range from $350,000 to $600,000.
“Interest has been brisk,” said Cammie Longenécker, a spokeswoman with Taylor Morrison homebuilders.
It’s a prime location for new development, she said.
Taylor Morrison leaders are optimistic the location will bolster the community’s popularity.
A Boost to the Economy
Collier County officials have estimated the Esplanade, when it’s built out, will generate $40 million in additional tax revenue and contribute more than $30 million in development impact fees to government budgets.
“One of the most appealing features of Esplanade Golf and Country Club of Naples is its desirable location near popular shopping and dining areas, entertainment venues and the Gulf beaches,” Longenécker said.
The site has some top shopping nearby, including Waterside Shops, and top-rated hospitals and health-care within a short distance, Taylor Morrison officials said in a recent press release.
The Number One Attraction: Golf
The centerpiece of the community is its 18-hole, 6,900-yard championship private golf course designed by C.W. Golf Architecture.
The golf course, lighted Har-Tru clay tennis courts, stadium seating, wellness center, pool with an open air bar and a greenway system for bicyclists, joggers and walkers are to be cornerstones of a community marked by an active lifestyle, Longenécker said.
“That’s one of the elements that really sets Esplanade Golf and Country Club apart, its active lifestyle,” she said.
The community will have a full-time lifestyle director who will organize activities on and off property.
“Active lifestyle residents enjoy celebrating with their neighbors. They play where they live,” Longenécker said.
The Stunning Homes
There are currently 17 new designed floor plans featuring Mediterranean architecture, which will have the general design of the California Tuscan style seen at Lakewood Ranch in the Sarasota-Bradenton area, Longenécker said.
“Golf-lovers will enjoy how the fairways are carefully integrated into their natural surroundings, as well as a series of water obstacles that enhance the beauty of the course,” she said.
The golf club will include a pro shop and professional golf instruction.
